Everyone faces the challeges of today, unemployment, crime, kids, health, politics, religion, etc. The one challenge we can take hold of now is healthy lifestyle, weight loss, maintaining a healthy balance in our everyday life. I am going to spend a few minutes touching on some of the issues revolving around this concern. Lets get started.
Well here we are, again, talking about weight loss. How many times have you told yourself “This is it! I have found a great weight loss program and this time I am going to stick with it!” And then 2-3 weeks down the road you find yourself bored, frustrated, angry, and depressed because once again you are not getting the results you want.
Come on. Get real. You know the only way you are going to succeed is to change what you’ve been doing and to find a program that you can follow and that will lead to the body, health, and happiness that you have been looking for and deserve.
There are a gazillion weight loss programs and mystical diets out there. Most of then do not work or are very bad for you. Who wants weight loss if you are too sick to enjoy it? When you follow a weight loss plan that will help you lose weight and maintain your health you become a real winner.
Exercise-”oooh no I don’t want to” is in reality only 20% of the battle. So OK I guess I can walk a little bit more each day and pick up the pace along the way. I can take the stairs instead of the elevator. Leg and arm stretches can be done at my desk. I could go bike riding or swimming a few times a month or maybe just play ball with the kids. Any and all of these will qualify for the exercise part of a weight loss program.
Everyone who has ever attempted weight loss knows the weight you lose in the first 2 weeks is water weight. Water weight comes off and goes back on very easily. You can juggle 10lbs back and forth just from water weight. This won’t last. In the long term you need a weight loss plan that helps you lose fat and keep it off. It must contain food you love and will enjoy. (Nobody sticks to a diet of food they hate.) The “diet” part of any weight loss program is 80% so it has to be very GOOD. The food has to be GOOD. It has to give you GOOD results. It must help you look and feel GOOD.
Let’s talk stats. In the US 70% of Americans are overweight. 30% are classified as obese. Obesity is responsible for over 400,000 deaths in the US last year. Over 300 million people worldwide are obese. Following a weight loss plan that helps lose the weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle is the only way to put a lid on these statistics and keep them from surging upward.
Losing weight can be FUN. You can control your body and your health. You can look and feel better and live a healthier lifestyle. You can are in charge of your own weight loss destiny. Embrace it and run with it. Make it happen!
